New to the Forum

Post by pgmaust@pgmaust.com.au »

Hi Everyone on the X# Forum,

Our names are Gary and Margaret Sunderland. We are in Australia and run a software company called PGM Australia Pty Ltd. We have developed commercial Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) applications starting in the early 1990s with Clipper and moving through to VO. We have over 200 companies using our software.

We are looking to convert one of our major applications into X# initially via the XIDE.

We have been testing some very small X# applications and are at the stage where we need to start converting a larger application. We are using X# rel 2.18.0.4.

We have been attempting to buy an X# version of bBrowser but the bBrowser site does not seem to allow us to do this. We use bBrowser-4 in our VO apps. If anyone can advise us how to buy an upgrade it would be appreciated.

We have some other issues with FUNCKY but we can possibly code around these.

We hope to participate in this forum in the future months.

Hi Gary & Margaret,
welcome here to the forum and the world of X#!
What is the problem you have to buy the bBrowser upgrade?
Do you have tried to contact Joachim Bieler at support@bbrowser.com?

Hi Wolfgang,

Thanks for the welcome!

Yes, we have emailed Joachim Bieler on that same email address but have not yet received a reply.

We have also been to the bBrowser online site where we tried to purchase an upgrade (to version 4.4.34 dated Aug 14 2022) but the purchase would not go through successfully.

Maybe we need to wait a bit longer for Joachim to reply.

Hi Gary & Margaret and welcome here!

Yes, probably Joachim is on holidays right now, so please give him some time to respond, especially on a weekend.

Also please always use the latest X# build, in every new release we are including several fixes and improvements, some of which will help with the porting process.

Hi Chris

Thanks.

We will wait to see if a bBrowser upgrade can eventually obtained - we have plenty of other stuff to do in the meantime, including keeping X# releases up-to-date.

We are still coming to grips with the XIDE at this stage. We have ported an application over to the XIDE and resolving more minor incompatibilities at this point.

Congratulations on the XIDE, really helps people like us who are long time VO people but new to X#.

Hi Gary,

Thank you very much! If you have any questions or are unsure about anything (on XIDE or X# in general), please do not hesitate to ask!
