Hello Jura,
hsc wrote:Hi Dick
My Dutch.resx is in attachment
Yes, now it works, thanks!

A bit of a pitty that simply downloading a file takes so much time before it's correct :(

Next problem:

I've now read the Generic.resx and Dutch .resx files with Jurjen's program. The Dutch.resx file from Jurjen is 766 KB and the one I downloaded is 74 KB. In the small file I can see something like this:

<data name="__WCSUNKNOWNSTATUSMSG" xml:space="preserve">
<value>Onbekend Status melding</value>
</data>

but in the much large generic.resx I can't. A -in Dutch- missing translation like EDB_NOAREAS is stored in 2 different sections, see below.

Is it ok that we send a bunch of missing tags like this in a file and you apply it:

<data name="EDB_NOAREAS" xml:space="preserve">
<value>Geen beschikbare werkgebieden</value>
</data>

Second: this sample shows an other issue. I appreciate that e.g. "Justify" translates in Dutch to "Uitvullen" - I can imagine this means probably more than the English word to most Dutch users. But for the above it's the contrary: everyone using DBF knows what a workarea is and closest the Dutch translation will probably confuse most users.

I think we should not translate words like these, which are best known by their English wording?

Dick

I corrected the text in Visual Studio - XML editor. The table displayed by my app is used to look up the wrong text. In the XML editor you can find it according to the column "LCIDNAT".
Ok, yesterday i run through the files and made a list of errors, containing LCIDNAT and the textvalue.
Just now wanted to edit the resx, only to find, that neither VS nor XMLNotepad shows the values of ID column.
For now i see as working path only looking in Jurai's tool for the LC, Re-TYPING (as one can't mark and copy) the resource (like EDB_NOINITFUNC) into the search dlg of VS or XMNP to locate the "real" line.

Pls tell me that i'm dumb and try it wrongly - working this way is a nightmare :evil:

Hi Karl,

I'm using a plain text editor - UltraEdit in my case. But either Notepad++ oder PSPad should also work and be able to show the XML syntax and keep the UTF-8 character set.

Wolfgang,
the problem is not the editor...
I have no idea from where Jurai took the LCIDNAT values. They are obviously NOT in plain digits in the file. But he writes, he uses them to locate the relevant line.

How do you find e.g. the line, where LCIDNAT = 211?

Hi Karl,

do you need that?
I would simply forget it and use the XML file.
Somewhere in the project the mapping table will be, but I don't think we need it for the translations.

Hi Karl,

please look here:
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/opensp ... 532684c37f

It is the language ID, and we don't need that....

Hi Karl,

The first time I downloaded files directly from the line that Robert said, with "save link as ..". These files also included ID="LCxxx". A few days later I downloaded the entire directory from Git and the files had a different format without "ID=.....". I modified my program to this format that didn't contain "LCxxx"
I don't know how this is possible.
Connecting a modified program.

Wolfgang,
what about an answer?
If you don't think, i should look for "211", i reformulate:
How do you find the line in the xml which contains as data "Vermisse Init-Funktion des RDD"
I'm not keen to TYPE this (wrong) translation into the search dialog and repeat this for every line which is to correct...
