Hi Chris,
meanwhile I compiled the sources of FabPaintLib & FabPaintLibControl and referenced these in my apps. Now the XS1701 is gone and the app runs! Therefore the problem with the version 2.1.0.0 in FabPaintLib must be with the downloaded DLLs from xsharp download area, which have no source attached.
