Hi Wolfgang

Yes - I certainly intended to contribute more on an opportunity basis; with the content being driven partly by what I would see as an "gentle path in" and in part by what I see being queried in the Forum.

So let's go user.

Hi Terry,

you should have received a mail from the system with a temporary password.

Thank you for your help!

Hi Terry, Wolfgang, all .......

While I am in the right forum area it may be a good time to remind viewers and readers that any CHM files downloaded from the eNotes part of the Wiki server need to be 'unblocked'. Remember Karl's useful tip a while back ?

I tried my latest version download yesterday, just to be sure all was OK, and hit the issue of blank empty pages in ClickStartXSharp_212.CHM

I have attached a couple of images to guide anyone not familiar with what to do to be able to see the content.

After you download it, highlight it in File Explorer and choose properties :-
ForumCHMsecurity_01.jpg
ForumCHMsecurity_01.jpg (124.12 KiB) Viewed 468 times
Check the 'unblock' box and apply / OK etc.

If you bring up the same dialog window a subsequent time we see no check box at all - as see below :-

This will need to be done to all CMH files you download - wherever they originate.

Regards,
Phil.

Hi Phil

Yes agree. There may/will be points I make which tie across to click start it would be useful to identify them explicitly.

I have not yet had time to put X-Sharp on my system. It's all C# so X-Sharp bits are rather a guess. I'm trying to put things in a language-neutral way at the moment and hope the read-across will be self evident.

Terry,

For a man of your experience and knowledge, I suggest you download and install X# ASAP - it won't break your VS installation. We can help you get going, no probs.

Then you could / should write your contributions to the Documentation Project in X# code - which is always more helpful to new guys and lesser mortals ;-0)

Just a positive thought.

Cheers,
Phil.

Not exactly what you're asking, but I have added to Doc Project a couple of pdf's under An Introduction to .Net Through VS which may help a bit
