QR reading on mobile - missing extended ASCII character ...

Post by Phil Hepburn »

Hi guys - and Karl,

Karl, I address you specifically since your used your smartphone recently to read the first QR code I posted.

Since you reported back your findings, I have downloaded the app to my Windows phone. And it seem to work as planned etc. - apart from the fact that the O umlaut ( ö ) does not show correctly - I get a black question mark on a white diamond.

Can you suggest what I should do on my phone to allow the extended ASCII character set to show ?

Obviously some setting or other.

Any suggestions Karl / folks,
Cheers,
Phil.

Best regards,
Phil.

Thanks Karl,

I will have another look in the MS app store - may be less on offer in a MS store.

I did look in all my phone setting places - took some care and thought - and failed.

Ho hum,
Phil.

P.S. I will keep you informed of any positive progress.
