Chris,
there is the colors tab in preferences, but that points only to the editor.
Could we get a changable/changed background color for selected item in project pane? Now it's some light grey. I often use "Find in files" and then double-clicking an item in the list opens the file in the editor and selects the name in project pane, but it's hard to find this there...

Hi Karl,
THere's no special painting from XIDE there, it just uses the windows control which is painted with the colors decided by MS. But I think you can adjust those colors somewhere in the Windows settings? So this way you can bring them to your needs not only in XIDE but for every app in your PC.

Hi Chris,
hmm. I take it, your project tab carries a Treeview? Neither the red and bold coloring of the "main app" nor the blue of "resources" seems to be default..
- tree_background.PNG (7.85 KiB) Viewed 387 times
Problem is, when the tab looses focus, the selection background changes to this:
- tree_background_selected.PNG (8.17 KiB) Viewed 387 times
The latter is really hard on the eyes...

Hi Karl,
Yeah, you are allowed to change colors to the nodes, but not to the selected and "soft selected" (when selected but control not in focus) nodes, those are decided by windows. I would need to go to completely custom draw the treeview in order to do that, but this area is very buggy and would like to avoid it...

Ey, interesting. Naturally, it's "super low" priority
..

Extremely low I would say
But seriously, did you try adjusting windows settings for that? If you find this annoying how it looks in XIDE, you must be finding in annoying in every other program as well, so a different global setting should be helpful all around...
