My Win8.1 tells me, it has an update to 4.8 - anyone with a reason, to allow/forbid for the time being?
ATM i wouldn't like any disruption in daily efficiency

If you have time to play then check it out. Otherwise forget it for now.
Net 4.8 goes with Core 3.
At the moment MS does not advise using Core 3 other than in its Preview Build of Visual Studio.
I don't know why. The more I think about it the less I understand the reason. But don't have enough confidence to ignore MS
recommendation.

Have just had a quick look at things.
Don't worry about 4.8 being on your machine.
Just in case there are others here looking at Net Core, things are simpler that the download instructions suggest.
First Modify VS installer to include Net Core.
Then simply in VS goto Tools - options - Environment
and select PreviewFeatures.
Take it from there.
I am using latest VS updates - suspect some have only been incorporated in last two or three months.
