Hi Johan
You pose the question:
So will AI improve coding standards, or will AI make an incompetent developer more incompetent?
My take on the subject is neither. Programmer competence will not magically be improved by AI. Time is the basis of everything, and programmer competence takes time (a ...

Re: Windows.Forms and the VO.App class
Hi Chris
Yes I agree. It was the ROUTE Kees appeared to be taking to get there that I was querying. It seemed to be a bit circuitous to me (a lot of learning - time consuming). Why not go straight there using VS?
Good to be in direct contact after so long. Hope all is well with you.

Re: Windows.Forms and the VO.App class
Hi Kees
PMFJI But I have been following this with interest. You said that your intent is to "change all VO windows to Windows.Forms forms".
I would be interested to know why you have chosen the route you have. I cannot comment much about Windows Forms (I use mainly WPF), but it appears to me that ...

There must surely be a PrintDialog in WinForms that you could use.
If you were using WPF you could simply put everything on a canvas scaled at 98 dpi and feed it to a PrintDialog.

Re: XIDE nuget?
PMFJI especially as I know little about NuGet, but sometimes problems like this just can't be solved using a single assembly.
When this happens I have often solved things by "linking" things to an additional self-checking assembly which effectively means doing things in two passes.
This is best ...

Re: Winforms, GDI+ and basic conceptual fightings
Hi Karl
I'd be interested in how you get on. Whatever you find easiest is the main thing.
Had you said 6 or any number of "Viewports on a Canvas" rather than "Panels on a Canvas" - that would have worked in just the way you were thinking (I think!).
And yes I know there was a lot of ill-informed ...

Re: Winforms, GDI+ and basic conceptual fightings
Hi Karl
Having been away from this forum for some time, I thought Id take a look to see how things were going.
I note your recent post - wanting to tackle graphic output - and would advise that you take a look at WPF.
The reason is not that WinForms GDI+ will not do everything you want. In fact ...
